love is the voice under all silences, the hope which has no opposite in fear; the strength so strong mere force is feebleness: the truth more first than sun more last than star

[Sep. 7th, 2010|08:02 pm] |
This is my epic birthday present to Ella. Her birthday is the 8th, which is tomorrow! I would post it in my personal journal, but not everyone there gets RP and this is a gift of RP-related things. Feel free to skip over if you are not her. <3

Note: Written for Dchan's prompt from forever ago. I'm really struggling with all of my headvoices right now. They're all super quiet on me so this is how I'm trying to get them back. I'm sorry for delays on tags as I need to find them again before I can tag. :/ I also haven't edited this at all so it's likely got some typos. ^^" ---------------------------------

| not the pale moon that excites me :x |
[Jul. 19th, 2010|09:17 pm] |
Robin is on a two hour dinner cruise with Rachel Dawes. The ships launch directly off of the Navy Pier. He can count the number of times that he's been to the pier and seen the water filled with boats, but he's never actually considered walking on to one of the cruise ships as an actual passenger.
After the tornado, Rachel asked him what he'd like to do, right here in Chicago, which is nothing that he's ever put much thought into before. Chicago doesn't seem like the place to do things in. It's like people who live in a city will often rarely visit the attractions that bring tourists to it. When Rachel asked him that question, the only real answer that he had (still has) is to spend as much time with her. He doesn't want to spend a day without her, and while he'd be content to do nothing out of the ordinary, there's something wonderful about experiencing something with her, even if it's something that he's already experienced.
Paris had been that much brighter, that much more relaxing and peaceful, that much better with her by his side. Why wouldn't he want to experience as much as he can with her? He's finally starting to understand what's so wonderful about life. For so many years, he assumed that people were ridiculous, naive, and stupid. They hadn't realized how terrible life is, because they hadn't really lived it yet. Robin never realized that it was him that hadn't lived it, not entirely. He's had the bad and the good, and he's starting to understand that the good makes the rest worth it.
There's a buffet set out, filled with all kinds of food. There's music and dancing. It's all incredibly classy, and he wonders why he'd had no idea that Chicago had a side like this to it until tonight. It hardly seems like their Chicago.
"Believe it or not, this is my first cruise." He says and then turns to Rachel, arm slipping around her waist and pulling her close as he sends her a charming smile. "And I believe that music means there's dancing, and I'm not wearing crutches." |
